Not sure how to make your musical dreams of being a drummer a reality? Are you new to drumming or are you just frustrated with your drumming? Maybe it's time for some private drum lessons.
Whether you are a beginner or advanced drummer, you can get BIG RESULTS on the drums with the step by step guidance you can receive from drum lessons. Beginners to advanced students of all ages are welcome As with all our private lessons, the drum lessons are customized to the student's individual needs, goals and previous experience. All lessons are private and held in a one-on-one teaching environment. You will learn using state of the art YAMAHA electronic drums. These drums allow students to hear the drums as they should be heard while playing. We do not teach on "drum pads." Snare drum methods and rudiments will be taught to provide a basis for drum set performance.
All Kinds of Drums Lessons are Available
Hand drum lessons are available for students who wish to learn to play congas, bongos, djembe, or similar instruments. Keyboard, mallets and bell set instruction is also taught as a part of our drum lessons for students who also play in the school band programs.
Setting Goals
Our drum teachers set goals together with parents and students for each individual students' drum lessons. Some goals will be shared by all students and others are individual. The main goal is to make learning the drums a fun experience. Another important goal is to teach each student how to "Read" music for Snare Drum, Drum Set, and even Keyboard (for bells). Taking drum lessons is an excellent way to help any student to excel in school programs as well as any future music endeavors. Our drum lessons teach students to "Groove" in various styles of music such as Rock, Punk, Alternative, Jazz, Latin, and Pop.
Drum students will learn the development of the proper technique that will increase speed, stamina, and precision. We teach hand/stick technique that will greatly increase stick control and speed, as well as learn how to play the drums along with their favorite music.
Students will be able to develop critical listening skills. Each lesson is 1/2 hour long. You will receive one lesson each week, here in our modern studios.
Naperville Music is one of the Chicago areas largest private music lesson studios. We serve Naperville, Wheaton, Aurora, Lisle, Plainfield and other surrounding towns. We are committed to music education, and private music lessons were one of our first services we offered when we opened in 1974. Our lesson studios and waiting areas are modern and safe, and located inside our facility.
